USS Enterprise

As some of you know, our son Aaron is on the USS Enterprise...in Libya. We're trusting in God's promises for the safety of all our sailors and soldiers:

1. God is on our side; therefore we declare that we cannot be defeated, discouraged, depressed or disappointed. (Rom 8:37, Psalm 91, Phil 4:13)
2. As we speak God's promises, they come to pass. They stop all attacks, assaults, oppression and fear from our life. (2 Peter 1:2-4, Mark 11:23-24)
3. God's angels are carrying out the Word of God on our behalf. (Psalm 103:20)
4. We live under a supernatural protection. (Psalm 91)
5. Any adversity, attack, accidents and tragedies that were headed our way are diverted right now in Jesus' name. (Psalm 91)

For a complete list of declarations, see my other blog http://www.markingsinthewood.blogspot.com/

Start declaring God's promises today!

Here's Aaron with his twin brother Jordan. Aaron is quite the comedian. He's been entertaining the troops on the big E. He said every week more and more sailors show up for his show. He sent a desperate email home, asking for more material, as he's running out of funny stories to tell. I'm so glad he's helping to keep everyone's spirits up on the ship.

Here's a picture of Aaron doing a gig in 2009. I had just broken my ankle when we flew to visit him. When we arrived at the airport, he picked me up with a wheelchair he had rented for me. After I got settled in, he wheeled himself onto the elevator, and went down to the lobby to put on an insanely funny show for everyone. I think Aaron got much more use from the wheelchair than I did, heheh...

This is a picture of Aaron enjoying the rides at Busch Gardens. I posted this last year, and some of my blog friends who didn't know us very well commented on what a 'special' relationship I have with my boy. I think they thought he really was ...special. I nearly died laughing!

I just found this picture posted on the USS Enterprise facebook page. I have no clue how Aaron made this picture, but I think it's totally awesome!

This was found on the big E facebook page too. The fun never ends!

Thank you for all of your prayers. Between this situation and Japan's tragedy, we've been spending a lot of time on our knees. But our Commander in Chief is the mighty Lord Jesus, and He's leading His army on His trusty white horse!

The Verdict Is In!

NOT GUILTY!

Aaron just called to say the judge found him not guilty. The accusers stories didn't line up, and none of their so-called witnesses showed up either. God Himself defended Aaron today! Thank you all SO MUCH! And most of all...

THANK GOD!

The Trial

I posted a prayer request a few months ago for my son, Aaron. Two men attacked him and fractured his face in four places. For the rest of that story, go HERE.

There was a hearing a few weeks after the assault, in which one of the men was convicted, which was good, but they lied about what happened. They accused Aaron of provoking the attack, which he didn't do. Because of that Aaron has a hearing this Monday (Feb 22) to defend his honor. He has proof that their whole story is a lie, but the girl who informed him of this refuses to testify.

Aaron has hired a lawyer. The Navy chaplain will be at the hearing, as well as some of Aaron's closest friends. We all plan on praying and fasting on Monday. Would you dear saints be willing to lift Aaron up in prayer again? It would mean the world to us.

We are firmly believing that no weapon formed against Aaron shall prosper. We are praying that all the lies that are told will be exposed in the light. We are asking God to give Aaron favor with the judge. And we are praying that justice will prevail!

I will post the outcome as soon as we get the final decision.

Thank you!

Arizona Trip

I'm baack! We had to extend our trip in Arizona, to decorate our daughter Jennifer's new house. As a result of the extension, we had to take the red-eye flight home last night. Don't ever do that. *Big Yawn* As promised, here are pictures of the work we did at our daughter's new house:

Jennifer and her boyfriend Ryan, hard at work.

A view of the living room, from the front room. We painted this dividing wall burnt orange. Cool, huh?

We painted a table set we found at a garage sale down the road.

We found this awesome coffee table at a Mexican furniture store for half-price!

Everything on this wall came from that same Mexican store (well, except the TV, of course). And we even managed to get in a day trip or two. Here's hubby and me at a stop on the Apache Trail. The entire mountain drive took 3 hours. Pure bliss!
Do you know Jackie from 'Fresh Oil Today'? We met on our blogs, and then met in person in Arizona. I'll post those pictures another time. The day after we met, Jackie's daughter who lives in Florida was rushed to the hospital. She was found unconscious in her car. Please pray for Jackie's daughter, Katie! We were very sad and upset to hear this.
And some more bad news today. Aaron's ordeal from the assault is still plaguing us (http://heavenlyhumor.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-beautiful-boy.html) Aaron had his court hearing from when he was assaulted last month in Virginia Beach. One of the men who hit him was charged guilty, but he only got a slap on the wrist. The other guy is scott free, and get this - the girlfriend of one of these guys is falsely accusing Aaron of harassing her that night. He knows someone who works with this girl, and she's been telling her co-workers that they have a "plan" to try and get out of this, and now we know what the "plan" is. Now his trip home for Christmas will be delayed because of another hearing! Also, these three people had lawyers, and Aaron didn't. Now he'll have to hire a lawyer. I pray to God for justice!!!
And more bad news...Aaron will be deployed in January. I just cried today with all of this nightmarish news. Please continue to pray for Aaron!
UPDATE: Aaron hired a lawyer, and the lawyer is requesting a continuance, so at least Aaron will still be able to come home for Christmas.

My Beautiful Boy

Could you please pray for my son, Aaron? He was attacked by two men over the weekend. He ended up in the hospital. His face was fractured in four places, and the nerve endings were damaged. His lower eyelid blew up, and the doctor said he will have a permanent dent there. He is having difficulty eating, as his jaw is now misaligned. He is going in for plastic surgery this Friday.
Aaron is the most bestest boy a mother could have. He volunteers on the weekend for the 'Angel Food' program, distributing food to the needy. He also works the sound board at his church, and has put in many hours there. He recently volunteered to work the phones for PBS, and he also ran in a race for a local community care program.
Thank you in advance for your prayers...it means the world to me.
Update: Right after the two assailants attacked Aaron, they got into a cab and drove off. Today Aaron made contact with the cab driver. Though the driver didn't see the assault, he said he heard the two guys talking and laughing in the back seat about the guy they just 'beat up.' The cab driver is willing to give his testimony if necessary. Praise God!
We are in the process of trying to find a way to get to Aaron in time for the surgery. He lives in Virginia Beach, and we're in Wisconsin. But just in case we can't get there, Aaron has a very special friend who has been like family to him, and she will take him to the hospital in case we can't make it.
How on earth can I properly thank all of you! I am overwhelmed by all the saints gathered here to pray, some of you I have never met before today! For those who are posting your own prayer request for Aaron on your blog, bless your hearts! I just really don't know what to say. I pray God showers so many blessings over all of you, that you just can't contain it! I don't think I have ever felt so loved before...
