THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

THE GOOD: Our kids chipped in and got us a big screen HD TV for Christmas, along with a Blu Ray player. I know, what? All this high-tech stuff...HD, R2D2, C3PO. It's all foreign to me. The picture on the tube is glorious, you should see the colors on this thing! It's so big and wild, makes me think I had some bad mushrooms.

THE BAD: I don't know how to work any of it. Let's start with the remote controls. There used to be one remote, and I aimed and fired that thing like there was no tomorrow. But now there's 4 of these bad boys! I'm picking them up one at a time, pressing all the buttons...nothing. I'm holding
all of them at once, clicking and aiming in every direction, slinging my weapons at every moving target. Nothing. Huh? One of these bad boys is ringing...Oh wait, looks like one of the remotes is actually the telephone. Okay, so we're down to 3 bad boys.

THE UGLY: I don't need to color a picture for you, do I? Somebody's going to get hurt.

Tonight it's New Year's Eve, and we're planning on picking up a movie from Blockbuster. Hopefully all goes well. If not, we'll have a deck of cards on standby.

Happy New Year! May God shower His blessings on you in the upcoming year...

Aaron's Antics

Just got back from Virginia Beach. Aaron kept us laughing all week. He was racing around the apartment with my crutches, trying all kinds of stunts. He almost went right through the patio door! Oops, was it okay to laugh at that?
Saturday night he took my wheelchair down to the plaza, put on what he calls 'birth control' glasses, rolled up his pants, put on one of Mark's big Hawaiian shirts and black dress shoes with no socks, and off he went. He pretended he was falling down the steps in the wheelchair, and ended up on the bottom with the wheel chair on top of him. We laughed until we cried. Good times.
Thanks for all the prayers!

Children of God

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" (1 John 3:1)

Doesn't this picture just make you smile? I laugh hysterically, but that's because this is my son, Aaron. Aaron lives out of state, so I don't get to see him very often, but we talk on the phone several times a week. Our conversation (in Elmer Fudd voices) goes something like this:

"Hewwo Aawon!" I say, in a cheerful voice.

"Hewwo Momma Dude!" He'll say.

Are we completely off our rockers? Why, yes. Thanks for asking. Aaron is my most cheerful child. Even when he was a toddler, he was always laughing and cracking us up. I guess you could say he hasn't, um, grown up yet. The child in him continues to delight us.

Is there a carefree child somewhere inside you? Let it out. It feels so gooood!

"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matt 18:3)
