Quilt for Khloe
My new friend TanyaLea at Acorns & Cherry Blossoms is having a quilting party! She is putting together a quilt for the little girl they are adopting, Khloe. Here, I'll just let TanyaLea explain it:
"You may recall awhile back, a post I did about Khloe's Bai Jai Bei Quilt, also known as her "100 Good Wishes" Quilt!! For those of you who may not be familiar, let me refresh. There is a tradition in the northern part of China where it is customary to invite friends and family to contribute a patch of cloth (swatch of fabric) with a wish for the child. Part of the patch of cloth goes into the quilt for the child, and the other part of the cloth can go into a Memory Book with the wish for the child. The quilt contains the luck, energy, good wishes (and BLESSINGS!!) from all the families and friends who contributed a piece of fabric. The quilt is then passed down from generation to generation. Many adoptive families choose to take part in this tradition by inviting their friends and family to contribute fabric to construct this traditional quilt as a keepsake to welcome their new child home. And that is exactly what we are doing for Khloe."
Would you please stop in at Acorns & Cherry Blossoms and join the party?
