The King's Kids (page 5)

This is page 5 from an unpublished children's book called 'The King's Kids.' To view pages 1-4, scroll down to 'labels' and select 'King's Kids.'

This page has a very sensitive subject. There are many children and orphans in the world who are abused or neglected, or experience family strife in their homes. Tlhis page is geared toward those children, so they would know that God sees their pain. He is right there beside them, hurting right along with them.

The cute boy in this picture is my nephew, Jack Bender. My sister
Anne took this picture one day when he was pouting at the table. I'm so glad she did! It was the perfect picture for our book. Check out Anne's blog for some more inspiration! (Graphic artist - Jane Allison)

My grandmother was raised in an orphanage and plagued with emotional torment all of her 92 years. She was accomplished in many ways, a retired school teacher and principle, however, the pain of her child hood stayed with her.
Thank you for using your gift of writing to reach others like my grandmother.
Blessings, andrea

I do not understand why someone has not picked this up to publish it.

It is beautiful.

Debby, the book is beautiful. There is a place on the web called "BLURB" where you can publish your own book. I don't really know the details, but it could be worth checking out.

blessings!

First day back so I was happy to "catch-up" and hear your son is doing well after surgery! I have been praying for him. and you!

Take care!

oh, this king's kids day make me sad because often we go through our day not realizing the abuses many children face--but at the same time there is HOPE because HE DOES LOVE THEM-and us!

Thank you sister! God bless!

Andrea -Bless your heart! This is exactly what I wanted this book to do. It's for the children, yes, but so many adults carry around scars from their childhood. I think God will use this book for the 'kid' in all of us.

Jen - It's overwhelming to think about what some children are going through, isn't it? I had the privilege of sharing this book with a little girl who had never been taught about Jesus, she had no clue who He is. We went through each page, talking about all the issues, and I explained that God loves all His children, and doesn't want them to suffer. Lydia just cried and cried. I hope someday many more children will come to know God through these pages!

Hey Debby.....My dad was raised in an orphanage and like Andrea's grandmother lived in emotional pain his entire life. When he went to be with the Lord I had such a sense of relief for him because I knew for the first time in his entire existence he finally knew what Love and Acceptance and Freedom from emotional pain really was....Thank you Jesus! What a wonderful "God" thing ... "The King's Kids"!

Also, I spoke with Bryan last night and gave him the email address.

Praying for you and your son! He is Faithful!

Sweet Blessings!
Jackie

I know it might not that be easy to have something published, but can you publish it by yourself? It looks like an amazing book and many kids will be encouraged by your poems and the pictures just go well with each of them. I pray the Lord will open a door of opportunity for you and your sister. God bless you sister. Praying still for your recovery and Aaron. Have a great day!

P.S.
Thank you for your encouraging comment re: doing a devotional about my posts. I will just leave it to the Lord to where He takes me. Right now, it's still overwhelming that He gave me so many friends and sisters in Christ through blogging. Never imagined that! That alone, I am so grateful and blessed!

Jackie - that's exactly why I want to get this book in the hands of children. What a difference it would make if they knew that God is there with them.

Rosel - Someday I might just self-publish this. I don't care about making money on this deal - I just want to help the children. Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to ship these books overseas to orphans? God willing, I'll do just that...

Hi Deb,
Had missed reading this when you first posted, somehow. My friend's dad was raised in an orphanage in England, and now in his 70's, continues to bear the emotional scars of his childhood. Lots of love from my friend and her family has healed some, but she still is trying to help him as he deals with this. The book is lovely, Deborah.

Wow - this is powerful. Every home should have this as a reminder to the child (that s/he is loved) and to the parents (that words matter).
